Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique - CNRS

The National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is a multidisciplinary institution under the authority of the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research. It covers all scientific disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences, biological sciences, nuclear and particle physics, information sciences, engineering and systems, physics, mathematical sciences, chemistry, Earth sciences and astronomy, ecology and the environment.With 11,200 researchers, the CNRS is at the forefront of international research and is the world’s top producer of scientific research papers. Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale - INSERM

The French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) is a public scientific and technological institute under the joint authority of the Ministries of Health and Research. It is one of the top European institutes for biomedical and health research. Fifteen thousand researchers, engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel are working for a common goal: improving health by studying and increasing our knowledge in life sciences, diseases and their treatment. Created in 1964, Inserm has taken part in decisive medical advances such as cancer treatments, gene therapy, discovery of HIV, better understanding of many pathogenic mechanisms, new imaging technologies. www.inserm.fr

Institut de recherche pour le développement - IRD

The IRD (Research Institute for Development) is a French research organization operating internationally from its headquarters in Marseille. Its collaborative activities in research, education and innovation take place in nearly ninety countries in Africa, the Mediterranean, Asia, Latin America and overseas territories.
