The season’s first participatory concert

On Tuesday December 15, 2015, the general public was invited to join the students of Sorbonne University’s Choir and Orchestra (COSU) to interpret the best-known extracts of Handel’s Messiah, directed by Ariel Alonso.

Music lovers were in attendance for this participatory concert which was more than ever a symbol of sharing and co-existence. Around one hundred people had the opportunity to sing with the choir and the orchestra. Based in the 18th district of Paris and collaborating with various academic institutions in the surrounding area, the Sorbonne University’s Choir and Orchestra welcomed the Championnet elementary school (from the 18th district of Paris) to this event, a school which was the partner last season for the very first edition of the participatory concerts, as well as the students from the Travail Langevin middle school in Bagnolet, in the eastern suburbs of Paris.
