Winter school in China

From December 26th, 2014 to January 9th, 2015, Sorbonne University organized a winter school in China with two local partners: the Harbin Institute of Technology and the Sino-European School of Technology of Shanghai University (UTSEUS), established by Shanghai University and three French engineering universities, including Compiègne University of Technology (UTC). 14 students from Paris-Sorbonne University, Pierre et Marie Curie University (UPMC) and UTC, who have either learned or are currently learning Chinese, took part in the school.

Participating students from Paris-Sorbonne University, UPMC and UTC were able to discover two major Chinese cities (Harbin and Shanghai) and immerse themselves in many different aspects of the country by taking part in numerous activities (Chinese lessons, calligraphy, martial arts, sightseeing trips, home-stays with locals, etc.) and meeting Chinese students.

Organized in partnership with the Harbin Institute of Technology, UTSEUS and Shanghai University, this first International School in China was also the first opportunity for those studying a new degree program, 'Sciences and Chinese‘, to experience mobility toward China. With this new program and the increasing number of partnerships with China, Sorbonne University is offering its students the opportunity to get to know and understand what is now a very important country.
